For a Neuchâtel boy, it isn’t common to have a helluva descent… but when you come from the Bugnenets, nearer to the mountains than the lake, nothing is impossible!!!
It was with the “Chasseral-Dombresson” ski club that Didier acquired his taste for competition. He always wanted to go faster than the others – even at the risk of taking some hard falls, and later on, some serious injuries.
A tough guy on the outside with soft heart inside, Didier also knows how to get hurt when training. He spent hours and hours on his physical preparation – and on his equipment. Sometimes a bit of a perfectionist, he always looked to put all the chances on his side to go as fast as possible. Despite his focus on competition, he never ignored the people around him; he consistently wanted to say “yes” to exterior solicitations – which is, obviously, not always possible.
Joyful exultation at the finish line… grumpy comments about his lousy performance… dissing a journalist who wanted him to say something he didn’t feel like saying… That’s also Didier!
